Microsofts Surface Geräte erhalten derzeit unterschiedliche Firmware-Updates. Der Konzern hat auch für den aktuellen Surface Laptop 3 eine Aktualisierung ausgeliefert.
Zeitgleich mit dem Surface Book 2 sowie dem Surface Pro 6 bekommt auch der Surface Laptop 3 einige Firmware Updates. Hierbei handelt es sich allerdings um eine deutlich umfangreichere Aktualisierung. Neben der verbesserten Kompatibilität zum Surface Dock 2 gibt es verschiedene Treiber Updates. Diese stammen einerseits von Intel, andererseits von Microsoft. Die Intel Updates betreffen vor allem die Funkhardware am Surface Laptop 3. Microsofts Updates dagegen bringen Verbesserungen für Akku und die Farbprofile des Displays.

- Surface Display – Monitors: 3.92.139.0 – Improves the device color profile performance.
- Surface System Aggregator – Firmware: 14.109.139.0 – Improves Battery Lifespan Saver reliability.
